Amit-Das shares insights on Caring Stary-Dogs

Amit Das, known for his role in “Diya Aur Baati Hum,” recently disclosed that he faced bans from several societies due to his compassionate act of feeding stray dogs. Expressing concern over the increasing cruelty towards animals, he highlighted the lack of awareness among people.

“As an avid animal lover, I make it a point to care for the stray dogs, particularly in the Goregaon area where my cafe and residence are situated,” shared Amit. “I ensure they are fed and provided with necessary amenities, including deworming and medical assistance when needed. Unfortunately, these actions led to my prohibition from various societies.”

Recalling confrontations with residents for feeding dogs within society premises, Amit revealed resorting to police intervention for assistance. “Now, with police support, I face no interference. However, the underlying issue remains the widespread ignorance regarding pet care and animal behavior in our society,” he lamented.

Amit emphasized the need for awareness, citing misunderstandings about dog behavior. “Often, when a dog chases someone, it’s perceived as aggression, whereas it’s merely reacting to stimuli like passing vehicles. Understanding this psychology can prevent unnecessary fear and hostility,” he explained.

Elucidating on dog bites, Amit clarified they stem from various factors, not solely aggression. “A starving dog provoked with violence is likely to defend itself. Education about immediate medical intervention post-bite is crucial,” he emphasized.

“In essence, dogs can be invaluable companions if we understand and treat them with kindness,” Amit concluded, advocating for a harmonious relationship between humans and animals.
