Doberman First Pet Registered in Kashipur

In Rudrapur, Mahesh Chandra Dobriyal of Kashipur has made history by officially registering his Doberman, Exel, as the city’s first registered pet under the new pet-keeping law. Following swiftly behind, another resident registered their Pomeranian, Osky.

This significant development comes after persistent appeals from administrative officials to encourage pet registration.

These registrations signify a commendable step towards compliance with recently approved bye-laws, which require a nominal registration fee of Rs 1,000. The annual renewal fee stands at Rs 500, with a late fee of Rs 50 per day for pet owners who fail to comply.

Municipal Commissioner Vivek Rai urged others to follow suit, highlighting the importance of pet registration in maintaining cleanliness. Rai himself obtained an application form to register his pet dog, stating, “Strict action will be taken against those failing to comply.
