Flattened Ears – Dr. Sonune notes that pets may display flattened ears during thunderstorms, indicating fear or apprehension. Typically perked up, their ears drooping suggest discomfort. Providing warmth with blankets can help them feel secure and reassured.
Seeking Shelter – During storms, pets may seek refuge in hiding spots, such as beneath furniture or beds. Dr. Sonune explains that pets can sense changes in static electricity and barometric pressure, prompting them to retreat to safe spaces. Offering familiar-smelling clothes or creating a cozy environment under a bed or chair can help alleviate their anxiety.
