Why Is Animal Aid Unlimited Expanding Its Rescue Centre?

Animal Aid Unlimited has been providing a second life to the hurt street animals in Udaipur for over 25 years now. Animal Aid Unlimited rescues dogs, cows, donkeys, cats, and many other animals affected by accidents, illnesses, or neglect. Unfortunately, the ever-increasing operations of the organization have outgrown their existing space for rescue work.

From a Small Rescue Mission to a Lifesaving Organisation

In 2002, Animal Aid Unlimited was established to rescue and cure street animals that are ill. The founders were not aware of the animal rescue activity but noticed the need for an animal rescue service in the area. So, they concentrated on fundraising, finding a vet, and began to put together a rescue team.

They continued to work on this project and managed to make it one of the most effective organisations helping the animals in India. There are currently over 150 staff members at Animal Aid Unlimited, and they look after about 15,000 animals annually.

A Hospital That Has Outgrown Its Space

The existing rescue center cannot accommodate the rising need for emergency assistance. New rescue cases come in every day, while there are animals that take weeks and even months to recover.

At any given time, the facility cares for:

1. Approximately 450 animals in need of medical care.
2. Over 350 animals residing in the sanctuary due to their injuries or disabilities.
3. Dogs, cows, donkeys, cats, birds, and many more rescued street animals.

Despite the team’s dedication, the existing facility has very little room for expansion.

Daily Rescue Operations Never Stop

Animal Aid Unlimited is one of the most active organizations when it comes to providing rescue services in the area.

The organisation’s daily operations include:

1. Ambulances operating between 7:00 AM and midnight in an emergency.
2. An average of 70 rescues are performed on a daily basis.
3. 100 rescue calls in very busy times.
4. More than 50 emergency rescues are done daily.
5. Thousands of local people depend on the hotline for reporting injuries to animals.

The hospital functions on rented land that was not meant for such a big rescue mission. The space constraints create challenges for the employees in providing treatment to the animals.

Unlimited Unleashed: A New Rescue Centre

To counteract these obstacles, Animal Aid Unlimited has begun its Unlimited Unleashed initiative.

This initiative intends to create a new-age facility with:

1. A fully equipped animal hospital.
2. A bigger rescue and rehabilitation center.
3. Sanctuary for all disabled animals.
4. Better emergency treatment facilities.
5. Enhanced infrastructure for animal care.

Construction of this facility is set to start in October 2026. The new centre will expand rescue capacity and provide improved treatment for thousands of injured street animals.

Why This Project Matters

Every day, street animals in India have to face endless threats. Accidents on the road, ailments, infections, dehydration, and cruelty often make their life impossible. There are not many cities where there exist animal hospitals or shelters that can save the lives of these animals.

A larger rescue centre will:

1. Increase the number of animals that receive emergency care.
2. Reduce waiting times for urgent rescues.
3. Improve rehabilitation and recovery facilities.
4. Provide lifelong care for animals with permanent disabilities.
5. Create a sustainable rescue system for future generations.

This is not a request for support to continue doing what the organisation does already; Animal Aid Unlimited wants to establish a dedicated rescue centre that will be able to address the needs of the street animals of Udaipur for years to come.

With the help of a built-in sanctuary and hospital, Animal Aid Unlimited will be able to help more animals, provide faster medical treatment, and find a home for animals that will not be able to return to the streets.
