Though Josie, a Labrador Retriever puppy, was told that she could not sleep on the sofa or bed, she did not quit at her favored sleeping place. Rather, she decided to get creative by using her human as a mattress!
The video posted on Instagram by @josie.thebutterlab shows how comical the transition is from “Week 1: No dogs on couch or bed” to “Week 2: She’s using you as the bed.” It appears that the rules didn’t last for very long.
In the cute video, Josie’s human lies down on the couch covered with a blanket. Josie makes herself right at home on top of her chest and shoulder area. Josie is very eager to remain close to her favorite human, from snuggling to sniffing and kissing.
No Personal Space When Love Takes Over
She does not just lie down and sleep. First, she sniffs her human’s face, licks her with a loving lick, after which her paws are placed close to her human’s face while sleeping on her shoulder.
Then comes the funniest part of the video. The puppy wraps her neck around her human’s eyes, thereby blinding her temporarily. What seemed like a small cuddle session becomes a full takeover of the couch!
Although her human has lost control of her personal space, Josie seems very satisfied with her own.

Seeking closeness from a caretaker may be beneficial for the dog since it will give comfort, safety, warmth, and company. Puppies, in particular, may like to take a rest near known people.
