Out of the way, elections, there’s an even more fluffed-up event in the city! Delhi’s fattest dog contest is selecting its “chonkiest” dog, and an Instagram joke contest has become a fiercely competitive one on the internet!
Delhi’s love for its four-legged residents soon took a competitive turn. The Fat Dogs of Delhi page invited nominations for the city’s chunkiest dogs, sparking a wave of creative campaigns, memes and social media endorsements.
There were initially 64 nominations, but this number was slowly whittled down through successive knockouts.

Voting began on 24 September, with the grand finale scheduled for Wednesday.
The competitors boast names just as fascinating as the entire contest.
They include Dahi Bhalli, Googoo, Mahakutteshwar, Rambabu and Kutta Singh.
One of the most popular finalists in the show is Googoo, a 46kg crossbreed dog now being housed in an animal welfare facility. However, Googoo is on a strict diet and even receives medical checks regularly.
This is because his fans have even branded him as the “GOAT” Greatest of All Time.
