“The Miniature Bull Terrier originated directly from the Bull Terrier, sharing the breed’s early history. In the early days of the Bull Terrier, the standards allowed for an excellent range of weights, reflecting the great variety in size of the Bull Terrier’s ancestors: the White English Terrier, Bulldog, and Black and Tan Terrier. More miniature Bull Terriers have long been part of the breed, with a few weighing as little as four kilos recorded early on. These most miniature white Bull Terriers had been at one time known as Coverwood Terriers. However, there has been greater interest in the slightly larger dogs, the miniatures instead of toys.
By 1939, the Miniature Bull Terrier was identified by the English Kennel Club. However, the breed never received widespread attention and grew only slowly. In 1991 it was identified by the AKC. Still an unusual breed, this canine is sure to boom in reputation as an accurate miniature model of the famous Bull Terrier.”

Like the bigger Bull Terrier, the Mini is comical, lively, playful, and mischievous. Despite the smaller size, this isn’t a lap dog. Mini Bull Terriers are as tough as the bigger model and apt to need to prove themselves even more. They are sweet clowns, dedicated but not fawning. They are stubborn and unbiased and want to be trained with a firm but mild hand— and a great sense of humor. They want to play and investigate. They want to dig, and they want adequate training or exercise.
The Mini’s workout needs are daily, however not excessive. They want both a mild stroll and a romp in a secure area. They can do well as a town or an apartment dog. Coat care is simple.
