Miniature Pinscher

“Clues regarding the Miniature Pinscher’s foundation are scarce; however, it is noteworthy that a cat-sized red canine same as a Min Pin, is described in a 17th-century painting. By the 19th century, numerous artwork enclosed puppies of fantastic Min Pin type. These puppies possibly resulted from crossing a small short-haired terrier (German Pinscher) with the Dachshund and Italian Greyhound.

Many of the characteristics from those breeds may be visible in today’s Min Pins: the robust body structure, feistiness, fearlessness, and red coloration of the Dachshund; and the black and tan color of the German Pinscher, and the elegance, playfulness, and lithe motion of the Italian Greyhound. Yet the Min Pin is greater than the sum of its parts; it is no doubt the world’s active breed!

In the early 1800s, These little German spitfires had been advanced right into an awesome breed, the “”reh pinscher,”” so named in regard to their resemblance to the tiny red German roe (reh) deer. Pinscher means terrier. The breed became one of the exclusive competitive and famous show puppies in pre-World War I Germany. However, after the war, the breed experienced a fall in numbers. Its destiny was left to those puppies that had been exported prior to the war. Its reputation persisted to increase in America in 1929. and it acquired AKC’s reputation. The king of toys, the Min Pin slowly gained admirers and is at present one of the most famous toy breeds in the USA.”
