The Spanish Water Dog desires everyday mental and physical challenges that may be met with an extended walk, jog, or energetic games, plus sports like agility. Given enough exercise, they’re generally a relaxed member of the household. The Spanish Water Dog has a non-shedding coat that, over time, has a tendency to form cords. They shouldn’t be brushed, and while bathed they have to be blotted, not rubbed, dry. The Spanish Water Dog was historically sheared once a year, along with the sheep, however, now their coat is maintained between one and five inches in length.
