Pets Receive Pampering at New Palestinian-Clinic

In the occupied West Bank, a new animal clinic has emerged, reflecting a growing trend among Palestinians to nurture and indulge their pets.

Located in the city of Nablus, veterinarian Ahmed Al-Amad’s “Royal Care Vet Clinic” stands as one of the few facilities in the Palestinian Territories offering grooming services for cats, dogs, and other animals, along with boarding facilities for owners traveling abroad.

In recent years, pet ownership has witnessed a surge in popularity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with some Palestinian supermarkets even dedicating sections to animal food and accessories.

“We initiated this project in response to the escalating demand for such services in the market,” stated Amad. While a private endeavor, the clinic remains open to accommodating stray animals in need of medical attention.

In the Gaza Strip, Palestinians have increasingly sought solace in domestic pets amidst the frequent conflicts between militants and Israeli forces. Consequently, the sight of owners walking their dogs has become a common occurrence.
