Dog Loyalty Faithful Pet Stays Beside Owner After His Death

Dog Loyalty

A pet dog was seen to accompany its owner on the way down to Rajgad Fort near Pune which has gone down in history for its loyalty. Jignesh Sadashiv Khandalkar, who was chasing his dog, is said to have died from a heart attack. The incident brought a lot of emotion to many tourists and locals who saw the animal’s dedication.

Man Suffers Heart Attack During Trek

It is reported that Jignesh went on Saturday to visit the historic fort of Rajgad with his favourite dog. As they were travelling he began to feel very weary and rested along the path.

But shortly thereafter, his health took a turn for the worse and he had a heart attack. He died on the spot, but his efforts were made to respond to the emergency.

Local people and rescue workers reached the scene and started to take his body down the mountain. Along the way, his dog never left his side and was always near the stretcher.

Dog Refuses to Leave Owner’s Side

The behavior of the dog affected the people who were present in the fort. Even though the dog was unaware of the complete scenario that had unfolded, it kept following its master’s body down the stairs.

The witnesses were moved by the love and affection of the dog because it followed the stretcher until the descent of the mountain had been made. This sad incident was an example of how close the emotional connection is between dogs and their masters.

Many dogs are accustomed to receiving their food, shelter, safety, and even love from their owners. This is why these regular activities enable dogs to develop a close relationship with their owners.

How Dog Loyalty Appears in Everyday Behaviour

There are various ways of expressing attachment in dogs. All animals have personalities, but certain actions can be signs of a close friendship with a familiar person.

  • Maintaining proximity: Dogs can shadow their owner around the house or remain close when their owner is resting.
  • Comfort seeking: Some dogs go to their owner when they are scared, insecure, or stressed.
  • Identifying familiar individuals: Dogs are able to recognize their owners based on their odor, voice, and looks.
  • Being concerned: A change in their owners’ behaviour and/or habits might cause dogs to stay near or try to get their attention.
  • Providing companionship: Just sitting next to someone they know could be how dogs keep company.

Another Example of Dog Loyalty Helps an Injured Owner

A dog’s loyalty was witnessed in a similar fashion in Kansas, United States. A report from People says one dog assisted an officer of the Leawood Police Department in the work of finding his hurt partner.

The dog was found on September 17 when the officer saw the dog with its leash but not its owner close by. The officer tracked the animal and found the garage door of a house nearby was open.

Inside, the officer found the homeowner lying on the floor. The resident has been there for over three hours, police said. These are both examples of the incredible bond between man and dog.

Whether it’s by being by someone’s side during a tough time or guiding someone to someone who needs help, dogs are still showing us the value of their behaviour in making a difference in people’s lives.
