This was done in a phenomenal act of heroism and compassion when a Delhi firefighter rescues dog trapped inside a burning flat at Brahmaputra Apartments earlier this week. What would have been a tragic incident became a moving tale of courage, humanity, and the strong connection people have with their pets.
Later, in the evening, on the fourth floor of Brahmaputra Apartments, a huge fire broke out, allegedly because of some short circuiting in the living room. In a few minutes, smoke filled the building, causing panic among the inhabitants.
The barks of the terrified animal could be faintly heard inside the smoke-filled flat.
One such rescue team member was Firefighter Arjun Singh, who spotted the desperate owner begging them to assist him. He felt no hesitation in acting.
Singh hastily switched on his oxygen mask and walked into the apartment, where there was a lot of smog.
The crowd burst out into relief and applause as soon as they came to light. The oxygen and water were administered to Bruno by paramedics; luckily, he was only slightly affected by the smoke.
The owner of the dog became extremely emotional, and she could not help but cry as she embraced her animal and the firefighter who had rescued it.
She said that she thought she had lost him forever. I started to weep when I saw the firefighter walk out with Bruno. I can never thank him enough.
This heartwarming rescue was soon shared on the internet and was a reminder of the strength of goodwill and bravery.
It is a radiant light in an otherwise dark world, as the world is full of heartbreaking news, but one thing that will always remain is how acts of bravery and compassion can still be present, and how people as brave as Arjun Singh still exist to make the world a better place, one rescue at a time.
