A couple along with their two Bernese Mountain Dogs have been rescued successfully after they got trapped between some dangerous boulders near Wastwater in the Lake District National Park of England. This accident took place on Monday night when the couple got stuck at the place because they could not continue walking with their dogs, Hugo and Elsie.
Upon getting an alert from the local police department, the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team started a rescue mission. They did not opt for climbing across the dangerous boulders but chose a boat for rescuing them.
The rescue turned out to be quite an eventful one, particularly for the two very nice dogs. It seemed that Hugo and Elsie loved the surprise ride in a boat across Wastwater Lake and were delighted to get treats from the rescuers.
The rescue party ferried the couple with their dogs to the other side of the lake, thus making sure they could reach their car without having to walk through hazardous territory.
Despite the beauty and various hiking paths present in the Lake District, there are places such as Wastwater Screes where rocks may shift suddenly. Even expert hikers and dog lovers who go on various hikes may find themselves stuck in dangerous terrain.

The case above is an illustration of the devotion of volunteer mountain rescue teams, who are ready to act when people get into trouble. The fast decision-making and the use of a rescue boat helped all the family members to return home unharmed.
It is also a good example that demonstrates that any nature adventure requires preparation and caution. No matter how experienced the dogs are, sometimes there might be some problems they cannot handle, so it is very important to plan everything properly. The work of the rescue team resulted in smiles and tail-wagging at the end of the journey.
