Established in May 2017, Animal Lives Are Important (ALAI) is a dedicated animal rescue and rehabilitation shelter situated in Bangalore, India. Our fundamental principle is rooted in the belief that every treatable animal deserves a chance at life and a loving forever home. At ALAI, we specialize in rescuing and providing essential medical care and palliative support to vulnerable and at-risk companion animals, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment to transition into the next phase of their lives with comfort and dignity.

Our shelter currently houses 650 animals, including dogs, as well as a variety of large and small animals such as cows, horses, sheep, pigs, goats, ducks, and guinea fowls. We are uniquely positioned to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome sick, injured, elderly, and differently-abled street animals. Moreover, we are steadfast in our commitment to fostering a society where mistreating any animal is socially unacceptable.

At ALAI, our core mission revolves around alleviating the suffering of animals and providing them with hope for a better future. Each animal that finds its way to our shelter has endured a harrowing journey marked by pain, suffering, negligence, and ignorance. However, upon arrival at ALAI, their narrative transforms into a story of hope, and hope alone.
