The Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka, formerly known as Bangalore SPCA, was established in 1888 as the ‘Bangalore Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ and officially registered as a charitable society on May 24, 1916. The organization underwent a name change to ‘Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka’ on September 30, 2001. As a member of WSPA, England, and North Shore Animal League, USA, Karuna is a government-sponsored shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals. They actively work towards preventing animal cruelty and offer a range of dogs and other pets for adoption, providing them with a chance for a new life.
